PLN Collaborates with Central Kalimantan BPJN to Implement FABA Utilization

BANJARMASIN, klikkalsel.com – The National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN), Central Kalimantan, has carried out a trial on the utilization of coal burning waste in the form of Flying Ash and Bottom Ash (FABA) as the foundation layer for paved roads.The implementation was carried out to serve as a reference for the formulation of the draft Indonesian National Standard (SNI) at the Pulang Pisau Steam Power Plant (PLTU) of PT PLN (Persero) Generation Control Implementation Unit (UPDK) Palangkaraya, (27/05/2022).There are two utilization products that were carried out in the trial this time, the Foundation Layer with a composition of Fly Ash 50 percent Bottom Ash 50 percent mixed with 7 percent cement from the total mixing and Preferred Pile with a composition of Fly Ash 70 percent Bottom Ash 30 percent.Read also: Escort the development of the Nusantara IKN, this is PLN's strategyAlso Read: Run the TJSL Program, PLN Hands Over Educational Facilities Assistance for SchoolsManager of PLN UPDK Palangkaraya, Heni Setyo Handoko explained, the implementation of this trial was part of the pilot project of the Cooperation Agreement between PLN Head Office and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) for the preparation of the Draft Indonesian National Standard (RSNI).The Ministry of PUPR has previously submitted a request for approval of this SNI officially to the National Standardization Agency (BSN), related to the use of FABA for infrastructure development."If the results of the trial at the Pulang Pisau PLTU location are successful, the trial will be continued on the Central Kalimantan national road project and will be a reference for the formulation of the SNI Draft, hopefully the results will be good and it can soon be implemented on public roads," said Handoko.It is known, Fly Ash (fly ash) is one of the residues produced in coal combustion and in the form of fine particles that are captured by an air pollution control device called ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator).While Bottom Ash is the rest of the burning of coal in the furnace which is routinely removed.
